So what is this event all about?

This event...

...is a magical, musical, theatrical and artistic extravaganza spanning two weekends before Christmas and located in the majestic mountains along the Frio River in Concan, Texas.

This event was created to reinforce the Spirit of the Holiday season for every one of all ages.

It is difficult to verbalize the feeling of the season as relates to each of us, but suffice to say, that individually, we all share a common belief that it is truly the greatest time of the year.

Where friends and family gather; where peace on earth and prosperity

are encouraged and awareness that the world we live in is a very special place.

This event is designed to invite families to our humble community to mingle amongst our proud residents to savor the SPIRIT of the SEASON and foster the continued vibrancy of our coveted culture.

This event is a two weekend long cultural and heritage event that not only celebrates the season, but also takes a look back at who we are and where we came from, while paying tribute to the uniqueness of our community and the brilliant future that lies ahead for our children.

Yours and ours! We have woven together a "special" event where the very fabric consists of acclaimed works of art; traditional and not-so-traditional musical moments, live theater, unique shopping and culinary delights that are destined to please one and all. And, it is all framed around the holidays and a collection of some of the friendliest people you will ever meet.

It is these individuals who come together to ensure that all of the traditions and cultures at the gateway to the Hill Country are preserved.

The Sol Surfers were formed in 2007, Boerne, Texas, by Lynn Stokes to showcase new original material. All members of the group have extensive professional experience performing live for many years. The band plays original songs with a classic rock feel blending the sounds of soul music with the rhythms and chord structure of surf-rock and new-age, retro-psychedelic. Spending his early days in Austin, Texas in the 1970’s allowed hin to experience and witness a wide variety of exceptional musicians and musical trends; from the Cosmic Cowboy country scare to the electric blues revival of the Vaughan brothers. Concentrating mainly as a guitar player led me to playing with a variety of bands and musical styles throughout his career and working with talented songwriters whose songwriting crafts did not go unnoticed. One of the highlights of those days was opening for Bob Dylan in 1991 in front of 5000 people and getting great reviews in the music press. Lynn Stokes has been successfully making a name for himself throughout the USA prog music circuit, as a talented musician and a exceptional songwriter. Clearly his music is so versatile and deliver various musical aspects, developed under a superb orchestration, we can find elements of Progressive Rock, Aor, Symphonic Melodic Rock, Classic Rock, New Age and Space Music. SOUTH TEXAS DESTROYERS

South Texas Destroyers’ beginnings come straight from the When Harry Met Sally handbook. Opposites meet and don’t exactly click, but meet again somewhere down the road and forge a relationship. When Harry Met Sally paired a pre-Botox Meg Ryan’s fake multiple orgasms with Billy Crystal’s endless droning about pepper and paprikash; South Texas Destroyers combines Will Owen Gage’s blues rock and Pardo’s country and Tejano roots into one cohesive Americana sound.

Rodney Joe Smith

Rodney debuted as a singer/songwriter about 30 years ago in San Antonio, Texas, during a rather long break taken by Claude Morgan and the Buckboard Boogie Boys, who were performing at J. Alfred Prufrock’s.

The audience reshttp://www.mytexasmusic.com/rodneyjoesmith/rodneypic250.jpgponded with the right kind of noise that night, and he’s been hooked on performing live ever since. A solo artist who performs on guitar and harmonica, Rodney also performs with various groups, including a jazz guitar trio, a country western band, and works as a side man for others. As a sixth generation native

Texan originally from Frio County and now residing in Pipe Creek, Texas, he is pleased to perform nearly 100% Texas music. As a musical stylist, his interpretations range from rhythm & blues to jazz, from swing to out and out country.
